The Reformation and Martin Luther

October 31, 1517 is one of the most important dates to remember in history for this was the date that an Augustinian monk named Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses on the church door in Wittenberg protesting the abuses of the Roman Catholic Church especially the sale of indulgences.

Luther’s challenge to the Roman Catholic church began a division in Europe and Christianity that still exists today. Next we will examine the causes of the Reformation and the reasons behind Luther’s protest. After taking notes we will watch the video below. As you watch the video write a summary paragraph(2-3 if needed) based on your watching the video. Include examples from the video.
