Black History Project:African-Americans who have had an international impact

This project is to be centered on African-Americans who have had an impact in countries around the world. Therefore it cannot have a subject that has only had an impact in the USA only. No current celebrities allowed. The subject must be an American.(So Nelson Mandela does not qualify)

What is required?

You will have your subject displayed on a mini poster. No bigger than 18’x22’(about half the size of a regular poster). Include relevant pictures & captions. Someone should be able to read your poster and have a basic understanding of your subject.

1-page essay in your own words on your subject.  DO NOT cut & paste from Wikipedia! You will receive more points if you write in your own words with grammatical errors than if you cut & paste without grammatical errors.

Note: Some of these people are still alive. Take the initiative and contact them through a letter or email. Invite them to address the class in person or online. Great way to get bonus points!
